Homes of Hope’s vision is to provide opportunities for generational change throughout South Carolina. They do this in two ways, Rebuilding Communities and Rebuilding Lives.
Homes of Hope began in 1998 with the dream to provide families in poverty with a housing option they could both afford and be proud to call home. Simultaneously, another idea developed; to restore men’s lives through sobriety and job training as they acquired life-changing skills in constructing some of their homes. From humble beginnings remodeling and repairing mobile homes, Homes of Hope has grown into the largest non-profit developer of single-family affordable housing in South Carolina. The small job training program has grown into a successful workforce development initiative that truly transforms the lives of graduates and sets them up for successful careers in well paying trades.
Affordable Housing Programs:
We provide homes that are affordable for families and individuals experiencing low to moderate incomes. Our homes are quality-crafted and attractive, and include two to three bedroom single-family homes as well as duplexes and townhomes. We operate according to income guidelines; an applicant’s total household income needs to be between 50-120% of the area median income in order to qualify. Rents typically range from $425 to $995 per month.
Homes of Hope offers financial wellness training to every client through quarterly classes. Credit counseling and homeowner counseling is also available. We do accept Anderson Housing Authority Section 8 Vouchers.
Homes of Hope is a proud partner of AIM’s Women and Children Succeeding Program (WACS). We are happy to support their mission by providing quality affordable housing to their clients.
Foothills Property Management of Anderson accepts applications for the Homes of Hope waiting list year-round. Approved applications are kept on file for one year and as homes become available applications that meet the requirements for those homes are notified. If you have applied and been approved for the waiting list, please remember to update us if your contact information has changed.
You can pick up a paper application at our office at 2001 N. Main Street, Anderson SC 29621. The application is $30 per adult.
